Our Reindeer Experiences.

Our Reindeer Meet & Greet invites you to form a close bond with our herd, offering a rare opportunity to get ‘nose to nose’ with these beautiful, intelligent animals born, raised and cared for here at North Hills Farm.  While part of our herd originates from Scandinavian roots.  Join in with our day routine with a fun interactive session where you will get an opportunity to walk off lead with our tamest residents.

Online Exclusive - Pre-Booking Only

This meet and greet experience is like no other!  After a short introduction where you’ll be taught how to interact with these intelligent and spiritual animals, you will enter their paddocks and get a chance to hand feed and walk with the herd on or off the lead while absorbing the different characteristics and nature of the herd.  Depending on the time of year your visit is there will be reindeer shedding antlers, growing antlers in beautiful velvet, moulting winter coats or nursing calves.  Don’t worry you won’t be alone our experienced handler will be with you every step of the way. Our coffee shack will be open for refreshments to purchase during your visit including our famous hot chocolate & roasting marshmallows. A complimentary tea/ coffee is included in the ticket price.

Exclusions: Children under 10 years cannot attend this event

Refunds & Rescheduling: No refunds or rescheduling, but you can resell or gift tickets.

Parking Allocation: Parking is free and available on the farm. Please see our visitor parking page to ensure you arrive at the correct entrance.

Accessibility: You must have a reasonable level of fitness and be of able body.

Arrival: Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of your session.  This experience runs from 8am – 12pm with one 20 minute break for the opportunity to enjoy a hot drink which will be supplied.  Please bring any food or snacks you require.

Clothing: Suitable out door clothing is required, wellies or work boots and gloves.  Generally don’t wear your Sunday best as you will get mucky!

Weather Conditions: We are a hill farm and quite exposed, weather can be quite unpredictable.  The course will run in most weather conditions.

Reindeer Handling Course.

Online Exclusive - Pre-Booking Only

The reindeer handling session is open to ages 10 and above, whether you are just mad about reindeers or thinking of starting your own herd this experience will give you a crash course in the day-to-day tasks and requirements of behind the scenes activities, dietary needs, care, mucking out, seasonal changes and training, along with advice on vaccinations and behaviour of the herd as a whole.  Experience the reindeers from a handler’s perspective. All participants will receive a personalised reindeer herdsman certificate on completion.

Standard Terms & Conditions

Exclusions: Children under 12 months can attend this event with a paying adult free of charge but must be in a baby carrier not a pram / pushchair.  Children under 6years may not be able to enter paddocks unless carried by an adult

Accessibility: The landscape on site may make it difficult for wheelchair users to access and the experience may have to be shortened accordingly.  Please contact us for details.
